Job Description

  • Create and file the employees files.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of all equipment in accordance with established processes.
  • Install equipment, using hand and power tools and hoist when required.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, assemble and rebuild equipment and electronic system circuitry according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals and drawings.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical troubleshoot, diagnose and correct unscheduled equipment failure as per the work order process.
  • Examine or carry out tasks on broken machine parts and identify defective parts or give
  • Replace, fix or realign machines parts and accessories in line with production specifications.
  • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions and repair solutions
  • Applies adhesives lubricants or other materials to machines or their parts as well as other equipment in accordance with company procedure.
  • Monitors spare parts inventory and replenish stock as required by submit requisitions.
  • Researches equipment parts and supplies from catalogues and or the internet.
  • Modifies or re-tools equipment as required to meet customer and production requirements.
  • Puts machines parts together after accomplishing maintenance and repair work.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Recommends changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of maintenance department.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, electrical components, hydraulics, or other mechanical systems.
  • Be aware of building maintenance requirements and when necessary, co-ordinate repairs and service with external contractors.
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with contractors and suppliers on matters concerning
  • Monitors all work being performed by outside contractors.
  • Keep work area free of debris and other material and communicates with appropriate personnel concerning their co-operation to keep areas neat and tidy.
  • Applies lock-out procedure ensuring energy source is cut off and communicating to applicable personnel before and after the work is completed
  • Complies with 5S principles in work areas.
  • Perform other duties and projects as directed by the production supervisor or management
  • Recommendations to supervisor on repair requirements
  • Equipment repair and parts.

QUALITY

Complies with all company policies and job specific quality operating procedures necessary for ensuring the production of quality labels in accordance with customer specification and on-time time delivery.

HACCP/FOOD SAFETY

Complies with all GMP, IFS and HACCP procedures anywhere in the production areas such as but not limited to:

  • Wearing hair nets and/or beard guards;
  • Not eating/drinking or storing food or beverage;
  • Not wearing shirts with pockets or fibrous clothing; and
  • Washing your hands before returning to your work station
  • Washing your hands before having your meal breaks;
  • Ensures all approved only material are in containers with a WHMIS label.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Complies with all health and safety policies, rules and procedures including but not limited to:

  • Always wearing or using the protective equipment that has been designated;
  • Following the law and the workplace health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Reporting any hazard you find in the workplace to your supervisor;
  • Not removing or making ineffective any protective device required by regulations or the Company;
  • Not using or operating any equipment, machine, devise or thing or work in a manner than may endanger you or any other worker;
  • Not using any equipment or machine you have not been trained to use or operate.

BACK-UP

  • Routine machine maintenance is performed by machine operators who operates the machine, and major repairs are carried out by either the equipment manufacturers or external contractors.
