Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial analysis to support the quarterly financials and provide business insight on the quarterly results of both CSN Canadian operations and 1Collision US operations. This position also supports in enforcing and developing of new accounting policies and procedures and month end/quarter end closing for both Canadian and US Operations. The position will be further responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing for employees across Canada.
Primary objectives of the role
- Month-end/quarter-end review and analysis of key Balance Sheet Accounts such as AR, AP and Accrual Accounts ensuring accuracy and the ability to identify and report on any discrepancies
- Oversee monthly/quarterly reconciliation of all insurance and insurance rebate accounts
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly departmental budget versus actual analysis for discussions with department heads
- Analyze Revenue accounts providing insights on discrepancies between actual vs budget and providing margin analysis
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Process payroll for Canadian Operations
- Manage the monthly and quarterly Commission calculations.
- Assist in creating and documenting internal control procedures and SOP’s surrounding accounts receivable, accounts payable any other accounting related transactions
- Provide insight and ideas on how to streamline processes
- Assist in planning and implementation of new ERP system
- Assist with month end/quarter end and year end closing procedures.
- Support both the Finance Manager and Director with Key Initiatives
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Core competencies
- Financial analysis which includes reconciliation and the ability to identify areas of potential risk
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting System and Desjardin Payroll System is an Asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Works well in a team environment as well as independently
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of projects with limited direction
- Proficiency with MS Office programs, accounting systems and an ability to learn other applications quickly
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and labour law is an asset
- ERP System Implementation experience is an asset
Education and qualifications
- Completion of University Degree (BA) or Business and working towards an accounting degree
- Minimum of 3 years progressive accounting experience
- Commitment to continued education/training in leadership, finance, and accounting
- Minimum of 1-2 years of payroll processing experience
Work environment and other requirements
- This role is based out of our corporate office in Oakville, Ontario which is an open concept office
- This is a hybrid role, working from the office 2-3 times per week
Travel requirements
- Willingness to possible travel throughout Canada and USA (less than 5% in a year)
