As our IT Systems Administrator, you will be the technical lead for all network and system initiatives, with your primary responsibility to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, and provide technical support to our internal customers. To be successful in this role, you should have a customer-centric attitude, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with various operating systems. Ultimately, you bring a proactive approach to ensure our software, hardware, servers and networks run smoothly and at optimal performance for all our customers. Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to CadMakers teammates to ensure everyone is able to work at optimal capacity
- Effectively and efficiently triage and solve all IT tickets based on importance, topic, and urgency
- Install and configure software, hardware and networks
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages to eliminate or reduce any downtime
- Ensure security of IT infrastructure and business continuity through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Ensure our internal wiki is up-to-date with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Occasionally work non-core office hours (evenings or weekends), as may be needed from time to time
Requirements
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
- Considerable knowledge of servers, networking, storage and cloud services (cloud storage, Office 365) for troubleshooting and maintenance purposes
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Unix
- A keen interest in computer hardware and systems technology, and ambition to improve skill set and knowledge base
- Bash/PowerShell Scripting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric attitude
- A curious mind and a hunger to determine a problem's root cause to effectively troubleshoot it
- Self-motivated, dedicated, and proactive in everything you do
- Ability to work well and prioritize competing tasks under pressure
- Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a team environment, while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Education
Desired:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a Diploma in Network/Computer Systems preferred
- CCNA
