Servus is growing! We are looking for an Associate Relationship Officer to join our Central Alberta Business Banking team in one of our central Alberta branch locations.

Compensation: $58,718 - $73,398 per annum

Posting closes: April 7, 2023 end of day

Reporting to the Market Director - Business Banking, as an Associate Relationship Officer you are developing your skills and knowledge in Business Banking. Your primary focus is the development and administration of a small commercial and agriculture loan and deposit portfolio with additional emphasis on sales, service, member advice and growth. You will implement a proactive approach to sales and business development by cultivating a strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

More specifically, the scope of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Gain up-to-date knowledge of credit union lending and deposit services and products and relevant policies and legislation by personal development, reviewing literature, working with an active coach/mentor and attending update meetings
  • Maintain a high profile and professional image in the business and social communities
  • Ensure reviews on commercial and agricultural credits are performed as required by established lending guidelines
  • Evaluate requests on the basis of policy, risk and profitability
  • Assist in managing the region’s lending and deposit activities through Team Leads including recommending rates within discretionary limits, approving loans within prescribed lending authorities and recommending to credit committee loan requests above those limits.

Requirements

To qualify, you'll need at least the following:

  • Demonstrated basic ability in most facets of credit granting and sales of Business Banking products over a two-to-five-year period.
  • Essential knowledge and skills include basic business development skills, analytical abilities and a basic knowledge of portfolio management
  • University degree in a business discipline or sufficient experience in lieu of education
  • Diploma in a related field.

Although not required, the following experience and education/certifications are valuable assets:

  • Experience working and developing relationships with members, potential members, influential community people and staff is preferred.
