The First Responder is the minimum qualification required by individuals interested in working as a Patient Transfer Attendant with Voyago. Many students from the First Responder Course are often hired with Voyago upon successful completion of the course.

Voyago’s Patient Transfer Service provides comfortable and caring non-urgent medical transportation for individuals who are stretcher or wheelchair-bound. Our competent and compassionate team of First Responders ensure patients receive a seamlessly safe ride whether the trip is to or from a healthcare facility, nursing home or private home.
Requirements
Requirements of a Patient Transfer Attendant:
- Valid First Responder, or AEMCA, or working towards a Paramedic Diploma (finished year 1) or Firefighter. WE PROVIDE FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING to qualified candidates that do not possess qualifications above *at no cost with minimum employment contract for 6 months or must reimburse Voyago for the certification
- Valid CPR and First Aid (Level C)
- Valid G class driver's licence.
- Ability to lift 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair with partner.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English effectively.
- Possess clean driving record and provide a copy of drivers abstract for personal file.
- Must provide a copy of a Police Vulnerable Sector check
- Up to date immunization records (MMR, DPT, Polio, HEP B, Varicella, Covid-19, TB Step 1 skin test)
- Completion of High School or proof of equivalency or post-secondary certificate/diploma
