PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

As a member of the Production team, the Team Leader reports to the Production Supervisors. The Team Leader must administer, coordinate and maintain a specific cell production operation while maintaining a safe work environment for employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the cell process is carried out by Machine Operators according to Standard Work Instructions and Process Documentation.
  • Ensure Machine Operators work in accordance with all safety and environmental policies, procedures and rules amp; report all unsafe work practices.
  • Assist implementing Productivity, Quality, safety and environmental initiatives within work cell
  • Collect data and update production-monitoring board to report out at daily production meeting.
  • Monitor quality of incoming parts and ensure parts conform to all requirements for next internal/external customer. Verify Quality amp; SPC checks for accuracy and reaction to out of control conditions.
  • Train amp; certify Machine Operators.
  • Report and resolve non-conformance immediately along with Supervisor/Area Manager and QA.
  • Ensure daily production targets are met as per customer requirement. Trouble-shoot amp; implement corrective measures when targets are not met.
  • Perform daily inventory, identify amp; communicate issues that can affect daily production or shipments.
  • Maintain and facilitate 5S amp; TPM/PM activities and routine management audits in cell.
  • Communicate to appropriate support items such as Quality, Maintenance and Manpower issues
  • Assist engineering in new product trial and process development when required.
  • Maintain daily communication with other Team Leaders to maintain uninterrupted production flow.
  • Perform operational duties as required.
  • Adheres and supports Stackpole’s Safety and Environmental policies and practices.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Quality Management System, IATF 16949 and ISO 45001 are conformed to.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required

Technical amp; Skill Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and passion to exceed all quality and quantity specifications.
  • Demonstrated acceptable level of Computer, English and Mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality amp; production.
  • Endurance, flexibility and energy level must be high.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT (including Physical Demands):

  • Manufacturing environment with limited climate control
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time

Language Skills: Proficient in English (both spoken and written)

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in Math
