Some of our Platform Services we are working towards include identity, analytics event ingestion, monitoring, LiveOps and config systems, experiments, segmentation, and more for up to Wordscapes scale PeopleFun games.
You will report directly to the VP Platform Engineering and work on a React / NodeJS / Typescript / GCP Cloud Run tech stack in development for gaming and data frontend and backend service apis for analytics, experimentation, liveops, and more. We are also improving existing Platform technologies on for example GCP App Engine as we scale up new services. Responsibilities - Create performant and maintainable web frontend UX and backend service apis for game admins and platform services at the top grossing mobile game scale of our new and existing games
- Design and build APIs for admin and debug capabilities for our games and platform services
- Implement and improve solutions addressing reliability, scalability and security
- Contribute secure production code through with coverage, performance, and load testing when required
- Reviewing and mentoring team member contributions including code quality and test coverage
- Contribute and improve production processes, coding, and operational practices for our game backends
Requirements- 5+ years developing backend services for games and/or relevant backend experience
- Experience in gaming backend services using cloud technologies like GCP / AWS
- Created frontend web UX and backend apis for those frontends
- Advanced React, NodeJS, Javascript and TypeScript and/or relevant frontend and backend language / stack experience at scale
- Solid foundation of web tech (i.e. HTML, CSS, ) is required to implement new web based features and extend existing ones
- Technical experience - server side rendering, client state management, database, caching, storage, micro-services or other frameworks
- Solid NoSQL / SQL database experience at scale
- CI/CD and Infrastructure as code experience
- Forward-looking mentality, taking into account scale, performance and a DevOps mindset
- Strong problem-solving and meticulous organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with team stakeholders
Desired Qualities- Familiar with mobile/F2P and a passion for games
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering
