Communications Coordinator

Blackline Safety is looking for a Communications Coordinator someone who is passionate about the role Communications play in the company’s success and wants to get in on the ground floor of our new team. The ideal candidate has experience understanding the differing needs of multiple audiences and platforms, and the ability to adapt their writing accordingly. They enjoy working closely with other team members and have the desire to tackle everything from writing press releases, blog posts, and incident communications to building out and executing communications strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing a variety of different content, including press releases, blog posts, incident communications, and internal and external communications.
• Working with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and relevant.
• Synthesizing multiple inputs and feedback from stakeholders into concise, cohesive content.
• Assisting with developing and implementing communications strategies.
• Monitoring analytics and creating reports detailing the outcome of communications campaigns and strategies.
• Staying up to date on industry trends and making recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practices.

• Managing and tracking translations and localization across the business.
• Ensuring that all content has a consistent voice.

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in related field (Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, etc.) or directly related experience.
• 2 to 5 years' experience in a Communications role.
• Experience writing and editing content for different audiences.
• Experience coordinating translation and localization.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Great critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to communicate complex ideas in clear, concise ways.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Experience working at a medium to large-sized business and with cross-functional teams.
• Eligibility to work in Canada or the United States. Our head office is in Calgary, AB and our team works business hours in the Mountain time zone.
• Experience creating content for social media and creating and executing social media strategies is a plus.
• Experience with HubSpot, Localize JS, and/or Weglot is a plus.
